Alternative music artiste, Simi has a lot to be grateful for. The singer registered herself into the consciousness of music followers by dropping good songs and videos like Tiff, Jamb Question and Open & Close.
She even got nominations at the Headies 2015 and also performed at the award ceremony. Simi who also got the rapper Falz to record a remix version of Jamb Question says she's in awe everyday that the song she spent time on to put her heart into has been received and appreciated by so many people in and beyong this country.
The Extreme Music X3M artistes added that this gives her more confidence to do more and explore her creativity like she did in the video, Open and Close. The artiste cum songwriter who graduated from Covenant University says 2016 is the year to release her album and do more. "We plan on putting out the album this year and we're also working on releasing more singles and videos. I'm working on collaborations as well. 2015 was an amazing year for me with a lot of my songs and videos widely accepted", says Simi whose single 'Ara Ile' years ago rocked the gospel music scene and was used for choreographys massively by different groups.

The gentleman for three decades, has honed the skill of disc jockeying from Obalende where he grew up. He's also raise a wonderful family by the side. Jimmy Jatt stepped out with his lovely daughter, Oyin Amu recently, to the premiere of the movie 'Beyond Blood' held at the Silverbird Galleria.
Jimmy and his daughter were spotted posing for photographs with some casts of the movie, Joseph Benjamin and Wole Ojo. Wearing his iconic fez cap and a blazer, the golden hand on the wheels of steel  looked great as usual. His gorgeous daughter matched a black top over a brown themed Ankara skirt, which got people admiring her fashion sense. Jimmy Jatt who is well respected in entertainment circles, recently dropped a song with Wizkid and the video is enjoying airplay.

GOtv Premieres 2 Telenovelas In February

Pay Tv channel, GOtv is set to premiere two new telenovelas, Under the Sky and A Passion for Revenge on Telemundo.
The sensational telenovelas will premiere on February 8 and 22, respectively.
Under the Sky, one of the most watched drama series in parts of America, is the story of Carlos, an illegal immigrant widower working as a gardener to give the best he can to his youngest son, while bearing the pain of losing his eldest son to a gang.
His life, full of sacrifices and hardships, takes a turn when he meets Adela, a beautiful and troubled gang member. Their connection is instantaneous, but their love is threatened by street violence, injustice and fierce opposition from Felicia, his eternal admirer.
Under the Sky, according to the Nielsen, was in January rated the number one Spanish-language series in its time slot in New York, Washington, DC, Boston, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix and Denver among adults 18-49 and total viewers.
The telenovela will begin airing on channel 14 on GOtv Plus Monday, 8 February at 4:10pm while the catch-up episodes run on Sundays at 11:10am.
A Passion for Revenge begins on Monday 22 February at 5pm, while catch-up episodes come on Saturdays at 3:20pm. She is 22 years old and also a student of Benue state university.

Tiwa Savage And Saka Register Subscribers At MTN’s Mega Registration Centres

Tiwa Savage and popular comic act, Afeez Oyetoro aka Saka were both celebrity attendants at the new MTN mega registration centres in Lagos and Ibadan yesterday.

 

Tiwa and Saka  made surprise visits to the centres to encourage subscribers on the MTN network to register their mobile SIM cards in line with NCC’s directive.

In Ibadan, Saka in his usual comic mood enlivened a surprised and hitherto weary crowd as he made his way around the large registration points in Adamasingba stadium.

His presence was greeted with tumultuous cheers. Saka had time to take photos with his fans and also gave gift items to some lucky subscribers.

The mood was not different in Lagos either as Tiwa Savage engaged subscribers one-on-one in the SIM registration exercise. She equally enjoined the subscribers to be patient and assured them of MTN’s commitment to the process as directed by the NCC.

More subscribers at the centres are set to be excited as the MTN ambassadors will take turns at each of the Mega registration centres nationwide, making the process as seamless as possible. The ambassadors include; Don Jazzy,Tiwa Savage,Davido, Harrysong, Iyanya, Kcee. Others includeNollywood stars such as; Osuofia, Saka, AdamuZango, Shehu Hassan, and NafisatAbdullahi.

In a bid to ensure a conducive atmosphere for subscribers and ensure a seamless process, MTN revamped the existing registration centres and introduced the mega registration centres nationwide with adequate workforce, creating employment opportunity for the youths.

For ease of access, some of the mega centres are located in Lagos-Oshodi, Festac, Ikeja, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki and Ipaja, Alimosho. Others are located in Enugu, Aba, Owerri, Port-Harcourt, Warri, Calabar, Kano, Katsina, Jos, Bauchi, Abuja, and Kaduna. The mega centres are designed to reduce the queues and facilitate a seamless registration process.

Subscribers who register their lines in the ongoing exercise are rewarded with bonus airtime ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 to call their loved ones.

I Feel Underated In The Music Industry - Seyi Shay Speaks Out

Irawo crooner, Seyi Shay has spoken about being underrated in the industry. The singer had a successful 2015 where she signed a deal with Universal/Island Records and released her debut album, penned an endorsement deal with Pepsi, and had many of her singles become hit songs.

The singer refuses to believe that she is underrated, waxing philosophical about the music industry’s inherent politics, time and chance. “I feel like there’s politics, I feel like there are different people you have to please at different times. I also feel like I’m not like a power house,” Seyi told Pulse TV.

“I am not a Chocolate City, or Mavins or something like that. I am not any of these record labels. I’m just a girl, trying to make an imprint, and trying to do something different. One of the people, I’m really inspired by is Omawumi. She is someone that set this trend of being a woman, and just going at it…and believing in yourself, and working extra hard because we have to. We are girls, and we are not signed to any label.

“It’s not really about being undermined, or undervalued. Some opportunities come to different people at different times for different reasons. And time, is probably the operative word and most powerful word in everything I have just said there, because time means everything. And I feel like my time will come.”

We'll Resign, Korede Bello’s Lecturers Threatens

Popular musician Korede Bello is allegedly not having the best of times as a student. 

It was gathered that the Mavin records act who recently had his matriculation for his Higher National Diploma (HND) at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos, is having problems with his lecturers.

An anonymous source alleged that some of Korede Bello’s lecturers have threatened to resign if the ''Godwin' crooner is allowed to sit for his exams because he has not met up with 70 per cent of his class attendance for the semester.

The source told LEADERSHIP E-Train that the one of the lecturers in his (Korede) department threatened that he would esign if the singer is allowed to sit for his exams later this year because he has not been attending lectures due to his busy schedule.

What Makes Sound Sultan Scandal Free?

Many musicians in the entertainment industry make waves with scandals. While some fake their death, others are busy impregnating and cursing just to get known or sell a record.
But one thing people don't realise is that lime light and scandals are very close door neighbours residing in the world of fame. When you are famous, everyone looks at you like a 'mini god.' They don’t expect you to make mistakes.
But for Sound Sultan, he is one musician I have always loved and respected ever since I picked interest in him. I believe he has kept a clean record as a famous musician. He has never been involved in any scandal throughout his music career.
I have been wondering, because they say birds of the same feathers flocks together. So how is he keeping that record clean with having 2face Idibia as a best friend? Don`t get me wrong  please, I never said getting people pregnant is a sin, l'm not God to judge, after all he is human and as a matter of fact an African man who is entitled to as many woman as he can consume or afford.
I don’t think I've heard Sound Sultan in a brawl with anyone in the industry. Little wonder he was once made a UN ambassador for peace.
I even heard he mentored Seyi Shay, who was allegedly living in his house while being taught the art of good music. Sometimes silence is golden...and many would say ‘I just dey imagine say na 2Baba house she stay’ maybe nah another baby mama we for dey hear.
But everybody cannot be Sound Sultan. And I think if I grow up I would like to be like him, quietly living his life and constantly giving the people good music. No scandals, no beef, just sounding like a mentor even though he is somewhat singing like an upcoming these days. But he is still a Sultan anyways.

Linda Ikeji named Africa Sun Times Most Influential Person of 2015

Popular Nigerian Blogger Ms. Linda Ikeji was named African Sun Times Most Influential Person of 2015 alongside former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was named 'International Person of the Year' by African Sun Times, Africa’s number one and largest newspaper in America.

Linda Ikeji who spoke via her blogspot, said that she is very honoured, and she thanked The African Sun Times for the recognition. Here are her exact words: “Aww, guess who is African Sun Times Most Influential Person of 2015 under 40?  Moi, of course! Feeling myself...lol. Just found out this morning! African Sun Times is Africa’s number one and largest newspaper in America and has been in circulation for 37 years. On Dec 31st, it announced its Persons-of-the-Year. They also named former president Jonathan 'International Person of the Year'.
